Just a small rant. FedEx requires a signature for powder and/or primers whereas UPS does not. I got burned on this once. Waited for FedEx on the promised delivery date and at the last minute they postponed delivery until the next day. So I waited by the front door the second day and while waiting for delivery I got a email saying delivery was attempted but not made because there was no one at the address to receive it. It's hard enough to find primers and powder at a reasonable cost and on top of that the worry of getting charged for hazmat and shipping twice. It would be nice if the reloading suppliers would give the option for the method of Shipping. Powder Valley does. Just put in and order with Bruno's for 2K LR primers and put in the notes to ship via UPS and not FedEx. We'll see. Rant over.

I had a new FedEx driver delivering my packages down the road about 1/4 mile. The neighbor called me and I drove down and picked it up. The next day he did it again. I contacted the shipper tell them the driver is delivering my stuff to my neighbor. He sent me a picture of the house delivered, not me. They contacted FedEx and a supervisor called me. He sent the driver back to pick up the packages and deliver it to right house. A couple of days later it happened again. I called the supervisor again, he sent the driver back to correct the problem. I think he lost is job for I have not seen him since. These were big body panels for my pickup. Not something very easy to move around.

So if you were there and no one showed up, contact them and tell them the driver never came by. Rattle there cage, some drivers do this so they can get home early.

I have had them email me that the driver attempted delivery and no one home to receive it. Then 10-15 minutes after receiving the email the driver pulls in with the package. This happened twice. Too much drama with FedEx. Not a big deal to FedEx but when I an paying $35.00 to $40.00 for hazmat and shipping it gets a bit aggravating.

Last week I ordered some musket caps from Graf’s. They said the order was being delivered by FedEx. After my experiences ordering powder and primers in CA and FedEx doing the same things you listed in your OP @frogfurr I wasn’t looking forward to the typical FedEx BS.
Fortunately nothing out of the ordinary happened except the delivery guy said he needed to see my ID. I said “This is new. Why?” He responded that it was something that FedEx has implemented. I went and got my license and handed it to him. He glanced at it and handed back then had me sign. Then he said “What’s your last name?”
I started to say “ You just looked at my license for cryin’ out loud.” And it dawned on me that he was going through the motions of doing what he was told to do. I told him my last name and away he went.
Both FedEx and UPS seem to have lost their collective minds. The problem is they are pretty much our only options.

It’s up to the individual driver to require a signature or not.
The last primers received from Fedex were just thrown on my porch.
The time before that, the driver made me sign AND he demanded my drivers license which he took a photo of.
I have more scheduled for delivery tomorrow…we’ll see how that goes.

Uh, UPS went woke and canceled Brownell’s merchant account last year. So I can live with FedEx’s signature nonsense for now.

We “tip” our delivery guys Poweraide when it’s hot and a breakfast snack bar in the Winter. We get lots of Chewy deliveries and the litter is heavy. Anyway anything we order is quietly placed all the way up to the house on our front porch. Postal lady, a whole different story.

It's people IMHO, I believe it depends on the driver more than the company. Varies from route to route/place to place.

Adapt, overcome, as I see posters have.

We were doing well on this somewhat off topic thread until we got political. :)
