Greetings,

Looking for some proven 358 Winchester loads to narrow my charge window in load development.

Post any proven loads that you don’t mind sharing please.

Any tips welcome.

I’m shooting a 17 inch Jes Rebore 8 twist 3 groove. Bullets I will be shooting are the Nosler Accubond 225 and Sierra 225.

JB.

I don’t shoot .358 Win, I shoot a Whelen though. In my circles everyone I know that uses a 358 Win starts and ends with TAC.

This load is 49.1 grains of 4064 @2.880 COAL with the 200 grain Nosler Accubond. Touches bullets at 100 yards and shoots less than 2 inches at 200 yards. Should be an any direction presented meat maker!

JES does fantastic work. There might have been a teeny bit of a chatter mark in the chamber that was barely grabbing brass but one pass with issso paste on a bore brush took it out.

He has done multiple rifles and barrels over the years and all work is top notch. Look around the web. You will not find a single negative comment about his work.

The Sierra manual lists 48.9 grains of imr4320 as both their recommended hunting and accuracy load for 225 grain bullets.

Barrel too short. Couldn’t stop it from fireballing with TAC.

Which, as I understand it, isn't available any longer...

Although I understand it's apple to oranges, I reload for the .348WCF... yes, smaller bore, but bigger case capacity.... but in a 20" barrel. The traditionally recommended powders... like H4831... work horribly in the short barrel. I've dropped down to IMR3031 and have had much better luck with it. Although Hodgdon doesn't give data for the 220grn and IMR3031, Speer does, as well as H322, another good option.
