I've seen a lot of rifle powders starting to become available online and remaining in stock for over 24 hours at a time. I haven't seen powders like A2230 or H110 or Lil'gun or any pistol powders.

Have any of ya'll gotten any pistol powder online or at a LGS?

I can find rifle pretty easy. Pistol powder is still more scarce than .22 bulk packs.

I've had hit/miss luck finding pistol powder at the local gun shows. I don't always find what I want, but I do find pistol powders and have collected several to try out. The trick is to be there when the doors open, because everyone else is looking for them too.

I think it will be a while (months) before it is commonly or readily available. The reason? When people see it for $25 a pound (more or less), they just snap it up - not a lot of cash out of pocket and it's easy to stock up on an incremental basis.

No one has any confidence yet that it will be there when needed, and since it's cheap to add, people will continue to stockpile for a while.

I was at my local Graf's store Saturday and they told me they currently have no trouble getting rifle powder and are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel for pistol powder. It's getting better but a long way from over.

God I hope so...... I remember having to choose which powder to buy..... Not I have to think, Will that work for my pistol

I see rifle powder all over. It's pistol powder that's been hard. And if you want W231 or HP38, forget about it. I'm surprised someone didn't step into the void. Heck, even the two 8lb containers of CSB1 were scarfed up at the local powder store. I may drop by later today to see if they have any of the last shipment left. But prices are up 10-20% from what they were earlier in the year. Still cheaper than paying the hazmat fee.

A local Cabela's had gotten in some Varget, 4227 and a few H-1000 pounders, first powder of that kind in a while, scarce as ever on others. No bullets either, Hornady or other makers. Had heard a story about Hornady being 6 mos. behind in production, anyone else heard this?

On Monday, Recob's had Bullseye, PowerPistol and BE-86 for $16.69 per pound and they were gone in a few hours.

Yeah, I got a PM "heads up" about the BE-86 and dived on it like a Duck on a June Bug. It was gone when I got there...:banghead: :cuss:

Still on the lookout for BE-86 to test/try and Unique. Not holding my breath...even when it becomes commonly available it will be quite a while before things settle as many reloaders are just itching to get stockpiled if they can. Any small supplies will get snapped up as fast as it is in stock. I see Unique and I'll grab 8 - 16 lbs so fast it'll make a head spin.

I went in a gun store yesterday. They had all the powder you could want....at 46 bucks a pound.
Same here. Had a 1 LB jug of V340 for 47$..OUCH!

The worst part about it is that I was tempted. I was thinking, and maybe some of you are familiar with this: "-well if I cut back on this- or maybe dont take spending money out next week -or -it wont hurt me to not eat for a day or two..then I could get it".

So btw, does anyone have any Vit340 data?:)

Just kidding, I walked away emtpty handed.

NO!!!! If we keep buy-in all they make for as much as their charging why make more and charge less.

Sacramento and reno regions have virtually nothing. Scored 2lbs of the only usable powder I could find after checking six stores, locals, sportsman's, Cabellas, Scheels. Now there is absolutely nothing, sorry.

Sacramento just passed a whole new wave of unconstitutional laws so maybe citizens are just preparing to restore the constitutional republic? Its encouraging to see inventory in other parts of the country.

I haven’t been able to find any kind of powder in my nearby gun shop for a few years now. But a couple of weeks ago I stumbled into a gun store about 12 miles away with all the powder you could want. One pound, four pound, eight pound and even some (I think) 15 pound kegs of all different type. The kicker is it is only $27 a pound. :)

Careful what you ask for, Potatohead :)
Now I know where to look if I ever need any;)

That was actually one of the things I thought about when I was trying to talk myself out of buying it..

"I dont even know where to find data for this stuff"

I PICKED UP 2 #'S OF w231 AT THE LGS--I STOOD ON THE LOWER SHELF OF THE POWDER CABNET & THERE THEY WERE.
THE SALES GUY WAS MAD AS HELL AS HE MISSED THESE FOR HIS "FRIENDS"
THE OLD OWNER RETIRED & RELATIVES RUN THE SHOP--$50 OUT THE DOOR TOTAL
