I have a SS PPK that I really enjoy shooting -- and carrying, but if I don't hold it just right the frame under the hammer digs into the top of my thumb nuckle. The grips are the original plastic things (ugly) and aren't big enough for me to get a good hold.

I'd like some good looking wooden ones (have enough Goodyears on other things) with some heft to them that will keep from getting the Walther bite.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Keep an eye on www.hogueauction.com. They don't always have them, but they do pop up from time to time. I picked up a nice set of Hogue seconds PPK grips for my shooter PPK. I honestly don't know what makes these seconds, but I got them for a little less than half price. The premium wood grips run about $100. A minor amount of fitting was necessary (I expected this since this is a pre-war Walther and a gun in production for so many years is bound to have considerable variations). Also make sure you differentiate between the S&W Walthers and earlier versions (they'll tell you in the item description what fits).
