I used to have a PPK/S that I could carry in my pocket in the summer. It was a piece of crap, but now I have just acquired a new PPK/S that is reliable. What is a good method of pocket carry for it? I could just slide it in a pocket, but some kind of pocket holster thing would be great if I could locate one. Anyone know if such a thing and where to find it?

There are more options than you really want to know about :what:

A couple of rules for pocket holsters.....Just my take on things.......K?

1) It should be the right size and shape to "fit" the profile of the pocket it rides in the most. The bottom should curve up to match the shape of the pocket..this will distribute the weight of the gun along the pocket and will have less "wear" on the pocket itself....holding a 1 lb + gun is hard on your pants.

2) It HAS to have a "hook" on the outside section of the holster....this again should be tried in the pants you wear it in the most. The hook should not print, should be flexible and should not allow the holster to come out of the pants when the gun is drawn.

3) It HAS to cover the trigger guard.....a couple of bad pocket holster designs allow you trigger access.....You dont want to shoot yourself in the leg......Phemural Arteries bleed way to fast.....

4) It HAS to keep the gun in place = retention...yet allow a slick draw when presentation is needed.......a nice mix of snugness and looseness.

The better pocket holsters are rough side out on the leather. The slick side in allows easier draw from the pocket and the rough side gives slightly more adhesion to the holster in the pocket, keeping it in place better.

Now...you can find a really really great pocket holster. Cowhide and horsehide offer different advantages.....IMO, neither is better...just
different.

Shoot well.....................
