All my shooting is at a desert type range about 5-10 minutes from my home, it is an open range with no supervision, when I go and check my targets I always carry a loaded firearm on my hip or slung from my shoulder, never take any chances, and am always aware of any upcoming strangers coming up on me, thanks to my electronic shooting muffs.
