Prayers for Minnesota

As it sits I don't think there is any way. So I'm not worried about that. I am worried that they will "concede" many of their restrictions in an effort to be agreeable and open minded. They will then proceed with a new bill after having been the bigger man and making an effort to make everyone happy. This is the way the game is played. In the end gun owners will be seen as unreasonable and unwilling to seek helpful change.

I don't see anyway where we don't lose something...

He who introduces a bill is the one who gains the most ground in the end.

thanks Joseph...I appreciate hearing from you and I doubt any of these are going anywhere.

Youve got my prayers for MN. I've got some family in the TC, but they don't partake in their 2A rights (unless they're holding out on me:) )

Please add Colorado to your prayer list!

The Democrat House, Senate and Governor are planning to prohibit Possession of "Assault Weapons", among other nasty provisions in the laws.

There may be a bunch of civil disobedience!

.

If this bill passes it's horrible.

Does anyone know what the chance of these bills passing is?
.
Word is its a done deal, thats why obama went there to promote his "plan for us". He wouldn't have come here, if he didn't believe it was a done deal. I've lived in MN for many years, bottom line is that Democrats control all three branches here, elections have consequences.

Any legal pundits wanna weigh in on the odds of each of the bills passing?

Like was mentioned before, we are in a horrible place with the Dems controlling all 3 branches right now.

If I had a perfect crystal ball and perfect prescience I'd be able to make a perfect prediction. Since I have neither - I'll take a shot in the dark. using hindsight.

factors:
1. Dems are running wild in MN (again)
2. MN has a history of voting badly on things (only state to not vote for Reagan)
3. Liberal Dems have a history of making bad laws for the people.
4. High emotions often result in bad decisions.
5. Metro areas are decidedly Lib, but outstate is decidedly not.
6. Greater MN has a love for firearms, and strong following.

Results:
1. Most MN Dems are not crazy libs.
2. MN will pass a form of AWB
3. Ban will be limited in scope and severity.

my opinions.
Ban Hi cap mags for sure, tougher registration for sure, purchase ban for sure.
Waiting period likely, AR ban likely (but hopefully not)
Transfer ban will fail, registration, search/seizure requirement will fail, destruction requirement will fail.

again my .02 looking back on MN legislator stupidity over the years. And remember - We've got Stuart Smiley, and gosh darn it, people like him. (4,000 dead people anyway)

I heard Tom Bakk recently on a local radio show. He is a Democrat from the range and sounds like he is very pro 2A. He said that there was no way this could get through. Without any negotiating he says he has nearly all the votes needed to vote this down and they are solid. The remaining votes are very close, but should not be a problem. The only saving grace is that there are a lot of rural Democrats in this state that want to get re-elected.

That being said - keep calling them!

Senjem - my state senator is on our side
Quam - my state rep is on our side
