Being basically time challenged perpetually and wanting clean primer pockets after the first uniforming run, wet cleaning with SS media is the faster method. I do have an excess of brass with the three calibers I do this for so waiting for it to dry is a non issue.

I recently tried wet tumbling some .308 lapua for the first time and that will be the last time. It's a lot more labor intensive and the cases banging around in the drum ended up denting some of the case mouths. That can't be good for precision.

Back to corn cob for me. Honestly, they come out just as shiny so I see no point in the wet process for rifle brass.

i do ultra sonic after sizing and trimming to get the lube off...them a once over in the neck to make for any excess brass debris. i still use a handtool for a quick clean in the primer pockets, but there is no legit evidence that i have seen that dirty pockets effect precision. Some people just like being OCD which is cool i guess.

For Benchrest. - 20/40 neck turned brass , at a time.

Fine steel wool on outside neck and shoulder. Inside neck , RCBS nylon brush, with very little lube. Wipe out with Qtip.
Clean primer pockets.

Wipe the whole case with a clean towel.

Fl in bushing die.

I don't do matches or anything like that but I try and squeeze every stich of accuracy I can out of my 223rem and I corn cob, size, trim, chamfer, debur, use a mouth brush on the case mouth, clean primer pockets. Heck if I know if any of it works but it makes me feel better.

6 PPC that is being reloaded all weekend? Clean outside with Nevr-Dull, brush inside of neck with nylon brush, Use Whitetail Engineering primer pocket uniformer on PPs.

.308 for F Class? Tumble brass in corn cob with polish added. Trim, chamfer/deburr, use K&M primer pocket uniformer on PPs, brush necks with nylon brush.

This does not include brass prep prior to first firings.

SSTL tumble, use M-die as mandrel to ensure proper ID and neck tension. I dont chamfer, deburr, or uniform primer pockets.

do you uniform the pps every time?
On 6PPC? Yes, and it always took a little bit of brass out and re-squared the bottom of the primer pocket. And cleaned out the primer residue too of course.

.308? Yes, but with it, like Don mentions, it tends to only clean out reside after the first time.
