Preparing to shoot black powder.

I received my Cimarron Sharps 45-70 yesterday. I was hoping for a few words on wisdom as I begin my journey with black powder shooting. I will need to buy the "over the counter" loads for some time until I can get all the right reloading equipment.

In all honesty I am a true beginner with black powder, and this rifle. I would appreciate any recommendations, and "dos and don'ts"
