Prescription Shooting Glasses

You'll end up paying too much that way. You'll probably to much better getting everything from e-rudy.com, using either a discount code or sale prices, and use any optical shop to get lenses put in the Rx insert.

But do they have a satisfaction guarantee on fit? I am reluctant to mailorder something as fit dependent as glasses... or shoes.

If I want to go cheap, I can get a pair of Uvex industrial safety glasses with insert for about $40 plus Rx lens. They are rated ANSI Z87.1 and military V0.

I don't see an impact rating for Rudy Shooting Rydon.

Wear your regular glasses.
Put goggles over them.
Look like Karim Abdul Jabbar and have the ladies swoon over you.

Or if you can, get some contacts and wear safety glasses.

I think safety glasses are more of a brass deflector than anything.
They are also kaboom protection too.

They certainly aren't bullet proof.

Though I did see some goggles that claimed to be bullet proof.

Goggles, no thanks, had to wear them in lab and plant some.
Take my cues from a pro jock, not likely.

Not compatible with contacts.

My main goal for shooting glasses is to support monovision pistol sight/target grind and to protect from lead spatter off steel targets. Hot brass, too.

I don't plan on a kaBoom, unlike some posters who refer to their "first" kaBoom or other screwup as though they expected more to follow.

My Morgans are ok and my Decots may be better but I was looking at alternatives with easier and less expensive Rx changes. A set of the big Rx lenses for either of those would probably pay for a whole new outfit with inserts.

I tried on a pair of ESS with Rx insert. My eyelashes flapped against the insert. Distracting.
But I like the idea and will check out other brands.

I've never had much luck with using Rx inserts behind a protective lens in the military. They always distorted the light too much and threw off making longer range shots past 150 meters. Same with using inserts inside a gas mask. The SportRx glasses I have been using for years still distort but not nearly as much as using an insert.

The fit can be adjusted quite a bit (flexible metal in the nose piece and temples). IIRC, if you spend enough (likely when ordering frames and some lenses) with e-rudy, you get free shipping and free return shipping. I think my orders actually came with return shipping labels.

They do a poor job of making it clear, but AFAICT, Rudy ImpactX lenses are Z87.1+ certified.

Another option a master shooter I know swears by is the Revision Sawfly. They don't have quite the lens selection Rudy does, but they're a fraction of the price.

BTW...here's a review I found when googling Rudy and Z87.1:
