hard to pick

i have always admired the hk p7 series, particularly the p7k3 and p7m7.
the inox beretta 92fs is very sexy also.
i think i have to give my vote to a color case hardened and blued Colt saa.
as far as rifles go, something about black rifles ... M4 or MP5 SD

H&H had a SXS 12 gauge with a straight grip and a celtic knot pattern that was drop-dead gorgeous.
For production guns, Colt 1911 with deep bluing and nice grips.

i assume you mean off the shelf, not a custom gun. for a box stock, every time
my 4 5/8 bbl Blackhawk in .41 mag catches my eye, i have to pick it up for a fondle. i look forward to getting some of those beautiful burl grips for her. i think i admire it for what it is and how it shoots more than for beauty.

a older used model 99 Savage just looks right sitting in your hands on opening morning.

But I had an Uncle who had been a missionary to Assam India right after WW2 and just before the war, and he had bought a rifle from a departing Englishman for use against tiger and other predators that ate villagers. It was an Indian copy of an H&H double rifle. 470 NE the engraving and inlay work was truely phenomenal. to me that will always be the "RIFLE"

There are lots that make my eyes glaze over. I even own a couple/three of em. I have a Winchester Model 94 with 16" barrel, large loop lever, and saddle ring that is great to look at. I shoot a Kreighoff Model 32 that can still do it for me. My favorite though is in its case, in a thin layer of oil in my gunroom. Seems to be a popular choice too. A 6" blue Colt Python made in 1966, the year I was born. I can still just stare at it sometimes. Not much of a stainless man,I like blue steel. I guess that would make for an inherent weakness for Pythons. Feels and shoots just perfect. I will eventually get a 4 inch to keep it company when I am too busy to do so myself. The "Elites" they are cranking out now sure are a shame though.
