Hey guys... was browsing my gun shop today.... Wanted to know what a gun was worth the dealer had..... It was in the case and didn't have a price on it... Just a card..... They were very busy and I was in a hurry so I had to leave before I could talk with someone.... Here is the scoop......

It was a Springfield Mil-spec 1911.....Looked like standard sights.... It had a Wilson combat skeletonized hammer & Wilson combat grip safety installed. It also had Hogue rubber wrap-around grips...I believe the card also mentioned it had a Wilson combat trigger...3 circular holes drilled through the trigger.....
The finish was pristine... It was a BRIGHT polished stainless finish...... You could shave with it and use the gun as a mirror.....
There were no marks on the gun....anywhere. Very nice condition..... It had no box though.....
Price?

thanks

tim

Used guns pull alot of diff prices you can get a Springfield Mil-spec 1911
for under 500 sometimes Call the shop and see if you think its a deal

Milspecs run around $500 - $575 new. Sounds like gun you're looking at is slightly used or LNIB? Since you mentioned its condition, and has a few parts upgraded, I'd try to go for $500.

But, make sure the parts are properly fitted by a reputable and competant gunsmith. Find out the history of the gun if the gun is used. Check to see the gun doesn't fall to half cock when the slide is racked. Check to see the hammer doesn't fall if pressure is applied against it.

Anyways good luck. They're good pistols.

Just curious. Why are you asking about this gun you saw in a gunshop here, and "down" in the firearms fro sale section you are trying to sell this same gun and talking about all of the work you had done to it?

Since we have a troll, I'll up bakers bid to 90. I've never had a Milspec before.

Ok gotcha.. Still though, its weird that he copied the description in the for sale section, and posted it in here saying it wasn't his :scrutiny:
