I have the opportunity to buy a Browning Hi-Power, made in belgium (sp?). It is in pretty good shape, couple rub marks on the bluing, 1 mag, wood grips, tight slide. serial number is 69C. .. so from the late 60's. Fixed low vis sights. Anyway, price is $650.

What do you think? I don't have a BHP and have been wanting one given the history of the gun.

I have other pistols and this would just be for looking at and some light range use.

Is that a good price? Rip off? I am not an expert so I though I would ask the experts here. Thanks

For a C-series BHP in 'very good' condition, that is a good price. You cannot find even used BHPs here. When they go on the market, they are immediately snapped up. I have not seen a new one for sale in two years -- and they wanted $850 for it as I recall, and they got it too.

The true clones are no longer imported for various reasons, and I get the distinct impression that FN Herstal has lost interest in their crown jewel. It's so much more fun making machine guns.

Cordially, Jack

Decent price for todays market.... I would offer $600 and pick it up.. Good solid guns. One of my favorites.
