Howdy all, I have an opportunity to buy a used blued Sig 220 for $350. Its got some surface rust but other than that the gun feels and looks great. I took off the slide and barrel and they all look great. I've got nothing against Sig but I'd rather get a USP .45 so I am thinking of buying it and trading it in on a H&K.

Is this price good and do you think I would get more than this trading it in?

Thanks

Brad

I recently bought a Sig 220 for $450. It sounds like it was in similar condition to the one you're talking about. Mine came with hogue rubber grips with finger slots on the front and an 8 rnd mag. From what I've seen on ebay and at gun shows the 8 rnd mags seem to go for 40 or 50 bucks.

Other used 220's I'd seen were in the $450 to $550 range.

So it seems like a good price to me.

But beyond the little bit of experience I have with them I don't really know.

$350 sounds like a good deal. I recently saw a used 220 w/ 4 mags at a shop for $600  It may depend on how bad that surface rust you mentioned is, but $350 sounds more than fair.

It's a good price compared to most private-sale and second-hand gunshop P220's: but right now, CDNN has a wonderful sale on used P220's. The blued version is $375, and the two-tone version is $399. Both come with a warranty from CDNN: anything wrong, and they replace the gun or refund your money. As long as that offer lasts, I think it's the best deal available on P220's - and they don't have many left! (I know... I bought one! :D )

Drundel, $350 is a good deal for for a 220 even with the surface rust. I would jump on it. You might be very surprised at sweet the 220 is. I have a 220 as well as the USP .45 and while both are top notch I like the Sig better.

Thanks all, I told the ol' boy i'd buy it.

Rinspeed:

I have a small hand and the Sig is a bit long in the grip for me, how is the USP since its a double stack?

That is a good price, even with the cosmetic problems-as long as it is mechanically sound.

As far as trade in? I don't know about dealers in your area, but from my personal experience, you probably won't get your 350.00 back if you try to trade it in.

"I have a small hand and the Sig is a bit long in the grip for me, how is the USP since its a double stack?"

H&K is huge. I had one. It is a very good gun, but was just too big in the butt, more than G21, nearly as bad as P-O. The double column .45 is the answer to a question I did not ask.
My P220 is much more manageable.
Miniz is right, don't buy a gun for cash to use for trading, the dealer just expects you to give him yours and buy his.

Greeting's All-

At that price, I don't think you can go wrong. You must
realize that you aren't getting a NIB weapon; but at
that price you can afford to put a few more buck's into
it, in order to restore the weapon to its original luster
(or beyond).

SIG P220's are excellent firearms; and they are amazingly
accurate. It definitely sounds like a good deal too me!

Got it for even cheaper than that.

:)

Ok ammo question, call me cheap but I'm looking to save shipping and get both Triton and Cor-Bon at the same store. Anyone know where I should check?

Tried, cheapterthandirt, natcheszz, midway, midsouth, etc.

Brad

Also, best place to get mags ebay, gunbroker, etc.?
