Im looking at a Yugo M72 for $850. Can I get some feedback on what yall think. It is in great shape with a very low round count. I have no experience with AKs, and in particular the Yugo m72. It has the bipod and 2 30rd mags, sling and book. What do yall think?

Edit:Classic arms is the brand. Round count is 50.

I also need input of weather or not the gun is worth buying. I have no M72 experience.

Is Classic Arms the marking on the receiver or the dealer? I think Classic Arms deals mostly in Century Arms International guns.

"I bought this new from Classic Arms..1.6mm thick USA made Receiver"

I can ask for more info if more is needed.

LOL thanks Joey the one im looking at is actually your first link. I know a few others are cheaper on gunbroker but I feel really good about doing business with the seller as I have bought a lot of stuff from him (im the weird guy who is a loyal customer if they earn my business).

Noob question here, are the M72s compatible with most of the AK aftermarket stuff (stocks, grips etc...)?

It looks like a decent deal given the current climate. Yugo AK's were blued. The one on Gunbroker appears to be parkerized. I would consider asking the seller if it has an original barrel or a US made barrel. If it is an original barrel I would want to know if it meets the bullet test or has been counter-bored. My reasoning is because I have 2 parts kits. One has a very good bore; the other would require a 1/2 inch or more counter-bore or a US barrel. I'm 90% sure it meets 922r. Looks to have an NDS receiver (1), a tapco FCG (3), maybe a US pistol grip (1). I imagine the muzzle break is the sixth US part. I'd have to do some math to figure the cost to build my 2 kits 922r compliant without the accessories (Magazines, pouch, sling, etc). I'm guessing conservatively around $550 or so..... granted I purchased the kits 2 years ago. Hope it helps.

How good do they run, I know its a AK but will it eat elcheapo ammo good? I see parts kits out there for sale in the $450 range, how much work is needed (and money) to get them running again? Are the parts kits worth the trouble? Many thanks for your help.

It's an AK, It'll run on the cheapest of ammo. Are the parts kits you see for $450 matching serial numbered used kits or virgin kits? What do they include; i.e. original bi-pod, cleaning rod or any items other than the gun sans receiver? Virgin kits are difficult and time consuming. Used parts kits are much easier. The parts kits are worth the trouble. But I depends on if you have the ability, tools, help to assemble one. It also helps if you can inspect the kit firsthand. If not, ask many questions. It's not hard but It's probably not worth it money-wise to many people to build just one kit. That where it helps to find someone local that has the tools and can help. Then you can save some $$$.
