I was doing my typical pawn shop bargain searches this past weekend and ran across what may be a decent deal on a 12 guage 870.This was a "cruiser" style synthetic furniture, either 18 or 20" barrel, ramp front sight, extended mag tube. It was in very good codition.Asking price was $275. I'm sure they would let it go for less. I don't really need it as I already have a Mossy 500 in a similar configuration, but when has that ever mattered?:D Good deal?

I just bought an 870 Police Magnum for $390 at my local dealer. It has a 3" inch chamber and a 20" inch barrel with a bead sight. And the Dealer through in the ammo at 10% off.....so I bought a lot of it. LOL. I got 5 boxes of Federal Tru-Ball Slugs and 5 boxes of Federal 00 Buckshot. Also, 4-25 round boxes of small game loads.....

If you are ever in the Coudersport, PA area, make sure that you stop in at Potter County Oufitters (the local dealer). They have a knowledgeable staff and excellent service as well as great prices.

Is it like this?...

If it's that 870 and used, then I would expect to pay about $275.

If it's a 870 Police (receiver will say "Police"), I have not seen a gun like that for less than $325 even a year ago. I'd expect to pay at least $350 used today.

If I really want a gun, unless I can guarantee a price that's $100 less elsewhere, I'll buy the gun. Usually, the saving is not worth the extra time wasted searching for a better deal. Because of my impatience, I have not received much of a deal on any gun. On the flip side, I have not been victim of a gun not being there when I finally make up my mind.

Based on the info on Remington's site, I do think it must be an Express Synthetic 7 round. I think I'll take another look during lunch hour.
