All the pawn shops around here seem to be offering them for $200-215, depending on condition. Isn't this a bit high? Guess I'll wait for next weekends' gun show and try to pick up a cheaper Yugoslavian one.
At the last gunshow, I saw them for as high as $400! Most were $225-350. I don't get it. I think the Yugo SKS and the Russian are much better. I think the Chinese SKSs are the cheapest feeling SKSs out there. If I were going to collect SKSs, the ChiCom SKS would be the last I would get.
I got mine in December for $235, although there were ones there selling for $180. The one i got though was in the best condition that i had ever seen an SKS in. The day that i picked up mine, there was another that had a really nice laminated wood stock, but it felt a little loose and sloppy, where mine feels tight and solid.
I paid 115 for mine couple of years back and 40 dollars for a scope and mount. The sks is fins but i havent bothered with the mount anymore because it is so innacurate. The stock was dry rotted so i got one of the dragunov style stocks and love it.
