Price check on S&W 29-2

I have a chance to buy a S&W 29-2, but I don't know what a reasonable price is. It is nickel plated, and is pinned and recessed. It originally wore a 6" barrel, but the owner had it fitted with a 4" barrel. Both are included in the sale. Original target stocks are with it, but one is chipped, so it is wearing aftermarket stocks right now. It appears to be in very good condition, showing only very light scratching of the finish typical of nickel plated guns that haven't been safe queens.

He's asking $550. Fair price?

I agree with above post. Be super careful about altered guns. Especially revo's. Just too much can go wrong with timing, etc... I would absolutely get that gun checked over by a qualified gunsmith before a purchase. If all checks out well, then the price is ok. Not a good deal, not a rip off.
