I've been looking for a 311 20 Ga. sxs and have come across one in "like new" condition...It is from one of the last runs I would think because it has the all blue/black receiver and barrels w/the raised scroll wing on the receiver...the wood is all smooth hardwood...He is asking $450 which kinda seems high to me,but Cabellas has one in not near as nice shape for $499...The last few 311 20's I've come across have been pretty beat up for around 300 to 350...Is the $450 he's asking too high? I just recently picked up a 311E 12 Ga in great shape for $200 but I'm seeing the 20's and 410's are a whole different ballgame pricewise...Any and all opinions needed...Thanks...

The 20 gauges are going up and fast.

I sold one on GB about a year ago that was like new with no box.

It was a Savage/Fox Model B with the vent rib. It went for 529.

The one you speak of seems like a much better price.

OK...here's mine. You are correct in that the sub-gauges are more expensive. And in almost every type of action. If the gun is exceptionally clean, so what if you pay more than most would to have what you want. If you're going to keep it forever, then it doesn't matter. Clean well cared for guns go up in value mostly. So why worry if you spent the price of a couple of good bottles of whiskey too much for it? You're not going to be flushing it down the toilet anytime soon are you?...;)

You're not spending too much if you want it - value is relative to the desire of the buyer to acquire the item - there is NO such thing as gouging or overcharging when it comes to disposable income items - if you REALLY want it, then get it. I have a Savage/Fox BSE in 20 - nice to know they're worth a lot more than I paid for it 20 years ago.

Personally, I would be looking at other brands that cost a lot more, because TO ME an AyA or similar is worth the 4 figure cost.........each person has to decide that for themselves

The Savage 311H 20 guage shotguns in near new condition usally sell for $500 to $600 here.I have one like you describe and I love to hunt with it.Will never part with mine.
