$250-300, and $300 is TOPS for an 80% gun.

I know where a 95%+ 8 3/8" 27-3 can be found for about $450 if you are interested.

I don't claim to be an expert on S&W's. Having said that, my Bluebook lists the Model 27, 6" at $205 for 80%. My guess, in my area, it would be slightly higher(most guns are), and the new Bluebook comes out in 2 weeks. It may reflect a couple of dollars more. Book says to add 10% for P&R, $28 for white outline rear sight.

HS, Bluebook says the $450 mentioned in your post for a 95%, 8 1/2" is pretty darn high. Again, I don't claim to be a S&W expert. Just stating what the "Blue" says. In my area, if you can buy at Bluebook prices you have done o.k.. They usually seem to run $25-$50 dollars more on lower priced firearms, $50-$100 more, on the higher end ones. I hit about 10-12 gun shows a year in my state, and the prices seem to be this way throughout. Gun shops, normally start MUCH higher, but they will come down a bunch, frequently. Down to about the same as I'm seeing at the shows. Just my opinion.

Mountain, it is WAY high according to the book, but the sad fact is the book (no matter which book) is so far off when looking at blued S&W revolvers it isn't funny. Then get to blued N-frames and the book isn't even in the ballpark, people are paying prices for blued N-frames that 3 or 4 years ago would have been absolute insanity. It isn't going to stop either, the prices will continue to climb and who knows where it will top out. I would not be a bit surprised to see blued P&R N-frames in the price range of current SAA in the next 15-20 years, in fact I will predict that we WILL see it in the next 20 years.

IIRC the book lists $400 as top dollar on a NIB 27-3, in reality it would sell for over $500 easily and a lot closer to $600 if not a bit over.

In my area you can buy quite a few guns at book value, but hang on to your hat when looking at blued S&W revolvers and anything Colt.

e k, $400 for an 80% gun is way high, right now..........

I agree. Same with Colt DA revolvers.

$400 is to high for an 80% Model 27-3 (it's not a a P&R anyway......) at this time. Ask them if they will take $250 from a non-member. :neener:
