A guy at work has a Remington 788 he wants to sell, in .22-250 with no magazine. rest of rifle is in good to very good condition. Would you guys consider it a fair trade for a Remy 710 in '06?
I agree with dakotasin, as the 788 is a much better rifle than the 710. Brownells carries aftermarket mags for the 788, and you might also find some on ebay.
Great trade for you.
Mags for the 788 show up at nearly all gun shows. The 788 was commonly referred to as "Remington's budget tackdriver". http://www.remington.com/library/history/firearm_models/centerfire/model_788.asp
I had one in .308 many years ago. Traded it. Kicked myself for four years and found a new one (also in .308 W.) in 1982 for $112. Still have it.
Heck, I'd go buy a new 710 just to trade with the guy!
