I don't even know anymore
I've been looking at 10/22's and the prices seem to vary as much as the factory options. I don't know a whole lot about the options and don't much care. I just want a plain vanilla 10/22.

So the question is, what should I expect to pay for the above described rifle, NIB? Thanks a lot.

Sports Authority ...............$179.00
Big 5................................$269.00
Your local guy....................somewhere in between but closer to SA

Well, since they are now slapped on the finish on the bbl and receiver with hershey bars, and not almost the entire trigger group is now plastic, including the whole housing/trigger guard, I would not buy new ones if I were you, just buy a used one. Personally , I will never buy a new ruger of any kind now, because of this.

I bought a new "plain vanilla" 10/22 for my grandson at Sports Authority for $189.99, and it's a jam-o-matic. Certainly not anything like I was expecting, based on the reputation of the 10/22.

Rondog, shoot about a brick of hivelocity rounds, that are solid point coppercoated, anything else will proly do what yours is doing, a brick should smooth it in. If you are still having probs after this, you need to get a new set of extractor/spring assy., and put it in there. At that point, you may as well add a new trigger assy., for a better trigger, and a stainless steel takedown screw, with torque wrench, and a extended mag latch. alltogether, it will cost you another 150 in parts.
Or you can just get a Marlin mod 60, new, or used from a pawn shop for about 75 bucks, which will still shoot more accurately, even after you do all that to your ruger.

this coming from someone who has both, and has done those minor upgrades to the ruger, and those are just about the most minor to do to them, without going crazy. And i still like the ruger, with it's sexy little rotory mag, that sits flush fit... very exciting stuff. But now , that mag is smoked by the browning flush fit, figure 8 feeding mag...
