Okay, I've finally found it. I have been wanting either a Remington 870 Tactical or an 1100 tactical. I already know where I can get the 870. I've finally found the 1100 tactical. It's the same OD green color, has the speedfeed IV stock (full buttstock and pistol grip with R3 pad on the back) and the extended/over-sized operating handle. Apparently, the shop bought a few of these when they first began to come out in this "new" configuration and OD green color. Price is $575.95. I looked on the Remington website and saw the same model's MSRP was over $800. Is this a good "real" price? I figure it is, but would like feedback. In case your wondering, no this is not for any type of competition. I will train/practice with whichever weapon I buy and use it for defense. I expect reliability, even with lower recoil loads. Good buy? Eventually I'll have both a pump and a semi-auto. While I've had several Mossbergs (and liked them), I have been wanting Remington and would love to have a semi-auto. Opinions welcome. Warning about potential trouble spots definitely welcome.
Yes, I know Benellis are just awesome. I still can't reconcile myself to the idea of spending over a grand for a semi-auto shotgun though. Not right now, anyway. I'll use that much dough for a good rifle/carbine, such as an AR.
