Guys,
need a ballpark price range for an old 336 Marlin in .35 Remington. I'm not sure if the Model was 336C or what. Couldn't see a serial number due to bad lighting and no idea where to look. I bought a 1957 Colt Python from this man, and he showed me the Marlin. Now I think I want it.

I know the info is sketchy...but the rifle is in 95% and I could use a walk around the property rifle that'll stop a black bear.

Any Price range info would be great.

Dave

Dav, a Marlin 336C in 35 Remington from 1969 to 1983 at 95 % should go for about $210.00 per the Blue Book of Gun Values,2005 Edition.
It will easily stop a black bear and more.I have one.
Get it if you can.

I don't know what EXACT year my husband's Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. is but he has one of these rifles. He has killed elk and deer with this rifle and with other caliber rifles. He bought his NIB. He has owned his for about 15 years or so - I just asked him about this.

It is one of his favorites rifles. I can't help you with a price. I don't have a new/used gun price book here.

Best wishes! He told me to tell you that is is a very nice rifle!

I would say a very good condition in .35 Rem would fetch nearer $300 and maybe a bit higher depending on the year of production. $210 and it would likely sell to the 1st gentleman or Lady that seen it.

my $.02 and worth every penny

Edited to add I will sell mine for $350.00

I've seen them used at the local Gander Mountain for $300. This is a almost new looking model with very few shots through it. GM is usually a little high when it comes to used guns though.

FWIW, I have a Marlin 1894 Lever gun and it's great for walking around, also they're a hoot to shoot. If you want it, get it. It's a great gun for your stated purpose. The .35 Rem is also an excellent cartridge that gets overlooked often. I feel it's better than the 30-30 for a lever gun (IMHO).

After some checking around the internet auction sites and talking to my local gun shop guy I believe you are correct, sir.
This rifle in 95% should go for at least $300 and probably a bit more.
The Blue Book has certainly undervalued this rifle.

I paid $200 several years ago for an example in 85% condition, and was very lucky. Pre-lock 336s in 35 Remmie are $300 and up most places I look.

I love the 35 Remington chambering. It's terrific, and if you handload you can do some pretty neat things with it.
