Price Range for Springfield Trapdoor Rifle?

A friend of mine has a good example of the trapdoor rifle. It appears to be in excellent, fireable condition. Can anyone direct me to a source on prices or estimate the value of such rifles?

Springfield Armory made trapdoor rifles from 1866 through 1893. Variations are many, and the range of values so vast, that a full description and pictures would be needed to even know where to begin.

As Jim said, there are a lot of variations out there and the prices can go from three to five numbers before the decimal point.
