can anyone give me a general price range for a springfield xd40 green frame black barrel, not real familiar with this gun, ive been checking into other models. guy bought it new and used little, very meticulous guy, so im expecting it to be in very nice condition. also any opinions from those who own one or have fired them would be appreciated. thanks.

I have three of the XD 40s and am well pleased with all of them. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, but I would personally stay away from the 357 sig and 45 gap simply for the issue of ammo cost. The 45 ACP looks to be a keeper, and that is certainly on my wish list. If you reload, the XD40 is fairly cheap to shoot.
This gun points well, nice features are the loaded chamber indicator, the cocked indicator, grip safety and there are a variety of accessories and holsters available.

As far as price for a used one, that varies a little with your location and availability, here in Ohio the one you described could be had for about $420 new. Used price would probably be around $350 to $400. You won't be disappointed with any of them.

About the average price NIB I have seen for XD .40 is around $450 otd. This seems to be every thing but the bi tone, and that is here at the shops in northern Colorado. I have seen some for a few bucks cheaper and I spent quite a bit more for my .45 ACP but I sure don't think you can go wrong with an XD. GL and enjoy.

I payed $415 for my XD40 with SS slide at Cabelas, they can work with prices.

That is one thing that pisses me off about gun shops. Springfield gives those bonus packs as incentives, so people will want to buy them and springfield expects the gun shop to give the extras with the pistol at normal price not way high because you get a extra magazine, or a holster!

Oh believe me I don't shop at places like that either, but it is a shame the amount of people that they are screwing and the ones getting screwed have no idea!
But you also must be aware that for a lot of people that live out in the middle of no where like me on this army post, we don't have many options, for me there is two ok places around and anything else is a good 50 to 75 miles!

I actually just picked up a practically brand new XD 9MM for $100. A buddy of mine works with a guy that got 2 on a deal with someone. He had kids in his house and didn't want the guns around. My buddy's brother, a Tucson Police Officer, ran the numbers and they came back okay. They came with 3 16 round clips, plastic case, first shot round and various cleaning supplies. How much does something like that usually go for? I know we got a smoking deal, wasn't real sure though. This is my first handgun, besides my dad's .357 he gave me. Any advice?
