First of all, i accept no resposibility for you blowing your eye out if you do this.

On traditional nipples, turn the nipple down just a touch. I used a drill as a lathe and a leathermans file. Now take a centre fire primer (small pistol) and carefully using a flat watch screwdriver, pich the anvil out.

Theses primer caps give amazing ignition. Its all ive ever used in the last three years as i live in the middle of the bush and caps are difficult to get and are very expensive here.

Again, its dangerous but the really are an improvement over #11 caps

Yep, not out of caps yet here, but I have always wondered if it would work, and now I know. Learning stuff always makes me happy. :)

Added to the knowledge base that is kept in my secure repository located in the west wing of my palatial plantation estate.

It's not cost effective at this point in the United States, but who knows? Some day this may just be the next best thing. Pretty good idea, thanks!

There's a discontinued primer adaptor device named the "Accra-Shot" that uses rifle primers for more certain ignition. But it was reported that it's tedious to remove the spent primer for re-capping since a pick is required.
I recently found one at a gun show that's threaded for the Lyman rifles and bought it.
I don't have a Lyman muzzle loader yet so if anyone is interested in it contact me. :)
