I have 200 9mm hand loads my friend gave me. I went to the range and the first 4 rounds the bullet didn't even leave the barrel:cuss:. Not to have anymore trouble with them I have removed the lead and powder now I have 200 primed cartridges (story over now:D). Im wanting to know if there is a way of firing the primers so I can dispose of them before I reload them?

You don't need to shoot them; just remove the depriming stem from your sizer die and resize them without taking out the primers. Then go through the other steps normally; belling the case mouth, etc. and load them with your powder and bullets.

If you plan to reload those cases and you think the primers are good. Do what they have stated above. If you wish to discard the primers. Just leave the decapping pin in and resize them as you normally do. Insure you are wearing safety glasses. I have never, in 22 year and hundreds of live primer decapping, had one ignite, but just in case...

i think you are asking how to remove the primers fom the cases, right? i was more than a little uncomfortable about removing live primers from a case at first. but thanks to the advice i got here, i tried it. i wore safety glasses, a sheild, 2 jackets and leather work gloves the first time. since then, i have removed quite a few, somtimes by mistake. if you have a universal depriming die, that would be the safest, just in case. that way, it would not be a tight seal on the case, and if a primer did detonate, the gases would have an escape route. i have never had a problem. just put them in the press like usual. but, still wear safety glasses. you should anytime you mess with any live primers! or, you could just load them one by one into the gun and drop the hammer. time consuming on 200 of them, but it works and is safe.
