Primers 'pushed out'. Overpressure?

Did you clean your brass before you took the pics? If there was soot back onto the shoulder, it supports the light pressure concept.

Someone asked me if I cleaned them and I said no. That wasn't an accurate statement.

I didn't tumble them, but I did use some 0000 steel wool to wipe the necks. There was soot on the neck and shoulder, but not that much if I remember correctly.

I got my 8mm Mauser headspace gauges and the rifle in question was able to close the bolt on the Go and No-Go gauges. The bolt would not close on the Field gauge. Looks like I need to resize my once fired brass and go neck size (or screw in the full length sizer die higher than normal).

Sounds like neck resize only and keep the brass just for that gun ... could well help things a lot. Let us know when you have tested next loads this way.
