I was wondering if these two products are compatible:

Otis cleaning rod:

Pro-Shot pull-through jag:

The pull-through jag is a neat idea, but I'm worried that the pointy tip on it would prevent it screwing into the Otis cleaning rod, and I don't really want to buy the Pro-Shot flexible rod, because it seems overpriced. Anybody have first hand experience with these products?

It looks like it uses the same 8-32 thread. I love the Otis flex rods and use them on everything from .223 to 7.62. I use generic slotted tips, as well as regular caliber-specific bore brushes. I'll also wrap a small patch around the brush and use it like a jag. The Otis kits are overkill as far as I'm concerned, but the flexible rods are reasonably priced by themselves and work with all standard brushes and attachments. I have one on the bench and keep another one in my range box.

I bought felt pellets from brownells for cleaning. VFG is one brand . 20/20 concepts is another.-http://20-20.8m.com/newprod1.html

Take a heavy piece of weedeater line and heat and flat'n one end. Slide a pellet over line use your cleaner or lube and pull threw. Works very good. You can buy these with or without bronse fibers in them to for cleanning copper or plastic out. No metal jags, cable or rod to hurt barrel and really works. You can buy a jag from VFG for use with a quality clean rod too for push to clean .
