I recently purchased a Remington 597 and a Remington packaged 597 30-rd magazine to go with it. The gun shoots flawlessly with the factory 10 round mags, but it doesn't seem like the spring in the 30 rounder is strong enough to continue feeding the rifle. Has anyone else had problems with these 30 round mags? From what I understand these Remington 30 rounders are just repackaged Eagle magazines...Heard anything about the ProMag 22 rounders?

Not uncommon with high cap after market stuff. Ramline used to be the sorriest crap for AR7s and 10/22s. I don't bother with high cap. I prefer to make one shot count rather than fill the air with lead and make the squirrel dance. The 597 is a very accurate rifle, at least mine is.

For the record, I returned the 30 round mag and swapped it for a ProMag 22 rounder. The ProMag actually holds 25 rounds and feeds flawlessly.
