Got a new Bushmaster last week. The M4 type with a carry handle. 16" barrel. Love the gun. With the guns own sights I do very well. I bought a carry handle scope mount this weekend. It goes on top of the carry handle. Put it on the gun and put a cheap scope I had on it. When I say cheap it was 50 bucks. Problem is that the scope sems to set up to high. i put the scope adjustment as low as I could get it and the point of aim still seems about 8-9" too high for the point of impact. Is a scope on the handle too high for zeroing. Any suggestions? Need more info. I was trying to zero at 25 yards.

Have same type scope on an AK and it does just fine.

When you mount on a carry handle you are WAY above the bore. Try to zero at 100 instead.

Also, some of the carry handle mounts are directional. so make sure you have it on right.

How much windage adjustment do you have? You may be able to rotate the scope 90 degrees for more adjustment. You could also try switching the rings.

I also second Wild's suggeston for a better scope.

sounds like the problem is in the scope mount.

my carry handle mounted scope is zeroed at 100yds like lycanthrope mentioned. it shoots about 2 1/2" low at 25yds.

if your lowest possible POI is 8" high at 25yds, then their is something seriously wrong with your mount(most likely) or scope.

one of the problems withs handle mounts is that there is only one bolt for attachment, which can allow for some wobble (play).

I put a shim in mine here;
