Problems with S&B Ammo?

a lot of the guys i shoot with use S&B and don't reload so i get lots of free brass. never seen an ammo related prob from them. I have found that the primer pockets seem tighter than most other brands.

S@B

The stuff has been O.K. in 9mm and .45acp for me,the .38sp 158gr FMJ doesn't impress me in revolvers-I like the Blazer stuff better for cheap .38.

I like S&B in my 9mms and .45 autos. I bought 1,000 rounds of .357 a couple of years ago and it is very hot. I was shooting it thrrough a S&W 686-6 and the gun was hard to hold on to. Otherwise no problems but I'm concerned about it doing damage to the gun.

"yeah, I'd like to see someone with a chronny check that. The other thing is S&B gives their muzzle velocities from a 6 inch barrel.

The other .357 ammo I have seen all does it from a 4" barrel.

for example, the magtech that works like a top makes a claim of 1233fps 158gr from a 4" vented test barrel.

the american eagle that also works like a top is 1240fps out of a vented 4 inch barrel."

Here's some chrono results I posted in the other S&B thread in the revolver forum:

Here's some chrono results from last fall,

Gun used 6" Smith & Wesson Model 19:

S&B 158gr. JSP (older boxes)

1305
1316
1298
1301
1282
1296

Rem Core Lokt 165gr.

1188
1173
1246
1187
1205
1233

Btw, Remington Core Lokt energy of 610ft/lbs from an 8" barrel is quoted on the box. I seriously doubt that as it does not come close out of a 6" barrel.

I was upset at first because I thought the Core Lokt was supposed to be 610ft/lbs out of a 4" barrel.
