Ok, I shoot mainly with a browning gold. I LOVE the auto-loading feature. I could load a browning all day and never get tired of watching that mechanism go. I'm very close to buying one but I've had a lot of trouble lately with jams. The club has 3 browning sports and I've had problems with 2 of them. The gun cycles but the shell gets caught on the end of the barrel. So I have to take my finger and slap the shell through the hole in the receiver. Then the shell slides on in like nothing bad happened. Anyone else get this problem with a browning? What about a benelli?

It's an easy fix but it's a huge problem if you are shooting doubles or need take the heads off of a few burglers/zombies.

I'm strongly considering getting a benelli (need more time to test it) even though I'm in love with the browning gold. I wish they made a higher end version. Why does all the fancy crap get made overseas? The browning gold would be the perfect shotgun if it was made with the same care as the benelli.

I had a similar problem with my Beretta 391 when I bought it last spring. It was caused by a bent carrier not properly feeding the shells into the breech. It's a simple fix that is covered under warranty.

A buddy of mine has a Browning Gold and it's works fine. He's never had a problem with it.

As for where it's made, all Browning shotguns are made in other countries. Browning isn't a gun maker, they're a gun imported and distributor. They've always contracted other companies to make guns for them. FN (Belgium) and Miroku (Japan) are the two companys that make Browning shotguns.

My Browning Golds are more reliable than the SBE or the M1 I had, so I wouldn't worry about it much.

The club guns you are shooting probably haven't been cleaned in thousands and thousands of rounds, most club guns would see a cleaning only when they won't work any more at all.

Look at the SuperX2 also, everything you get in a Gold except the autoloading feature at a lot lower price. The X2 is an outstanding shotgun.

The top end Benelli with the chromed reciever (don't remember the model name) is gorgeous, would be hard to find a prettier shotgun if you are really into looks and want an autoloader.

I have the SX2. As HSMITH said, its essentially the same mechanism.
I'm not sure I could make it malfxn if I wanted it to. I have used it as my dedicated waterfowl gun, run it hard and dirty, wet and dry, and have never, ever had even a hiccup with it.
I have shot with some folks that have the Browning Golds and have put some miles on them, and I have never heard a single complaint from them. In fact one fella, in particular, would throw his in the lake and go buy whatever he wanted, and never look back, if it cost him one missed duck or goose.
I don't think you're shooting a fair sample of the shotgun in question.
Nothing much wrong with the Benelli either. I don't care for them myself but I wouldn't tell somebody not to buy one.
