Stoeger M2000 vs Browning Gold - Pricecheck? Reliability?

Last gun show I saw a Stoeger M2000 for $300. I'm not sure if it was used or not but the thought of grabbing an inertia (meaning reliable) driven shotgun for $300 was very tempting. Thoughts on this shotty? Up to now I've simply rented/borrowed shotguns at the local gun club. I've had good luck shooting with Browning, Winchester, Beretta and Benelli.

Also what are good prices for either one of these guns new? CDNN doesn't seem to have a browning gold listed in their 100+ page pdf. :-(

$300 for a M2000 was a great price, especially if it was new or like new. My hunting partner has one and it is a great duck gun. The Max 4HD covering keeps the nasty brackish water off it and it hasn't rusted a bit, and it's tough to keep a gun in good shape in a salt marsh.

Not the same inertia system as in the upper end ones.... but a decent system none-the-less. Good price for it at least.

You can buy the Stoeger 2000 new for around $425. The Browning Gold is around $750-800.

Comparing the Stoeger 2000 and the Browning Gold is a not a good comparison really. Nothing wrong with either. I just mean the Browning Gold is a gas operated autoloader. Will feel much different than the Stoeger inertia gun. I haven't heard much bad about either model.

My son uses a Browning Gold almost exclusively. I use a Stoeger 2000 almost exclusively. Np problems to report on either gun. My gun costed less than half what the Gold costed. It is light and very handy.

Bith guns are OK. Check your budget and buy accordingly.
