I have an old (1965) Colt single action Frontier Scout .22 LR/.22 magnum revolver passed down to me from my grandfather after he passed. It's a beautiful gun and the nickel is still very shiny, and I added some rosewood grips from gungrip.com (i'll never buy anything from there ever again, but that's another story). Anyway, I was wondering what the proper sight picture should look like when aiming at a target?

Front & rear sight aligned side to side.
Front & rear sight aligned on top.
Target resting on top of the front sight.
Breath, focus on front sight, squeeze.
Repeat as necessary until the gun goes off and you will hit the target.

With that said, the .22 LR cylinder and the .22 Mag cylinder will require different holds with fixed sights.
They can't be right for both..

You need to figure that out yourself by shooting it with both kinds of ammo.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I understand. Should it be pumpkin on a post? Or something else? Any way I can see a picture or drawing of what my sights should look like on target from my eyes' POV? Don't know if there are some images out there or if someone even has the time or kindness to draw one up.
