I picked up my first revolver today! It's a Colt Frontier Scout (.22LR). It's an Appomattox Commemorative 1865-1965. Here it is:

I picked it up used. It looks as though it's been a shooter rather than a collector piece as it's got some character. That's fine as that is the role I intend it to serve. I was saving up for a Ruger Single Six (KNR-5) but saw this and fell in love. I put a box of CCI Standard Velocity thru it today and it shoots great. I couldn't be happier with my cool new (old) Colt. :)

I must admit that I'm starting to have a bit of a self-control problem with regard to purchasing handguns. I shot my first real one (non-BB) a bit over a year ago and this is the third one I've purchased since. I never would have imagined I like shooting handguns as much as I do. Now I want more!! :D

Next on the revolver list is at least a Ruger Bisley Vaquero in 45 Colt and a Colt Python. Maybe some other cool old Colts (probably post-lottery :D ) and certainly a few more of these Frontier Scout Commemoratives. Does anyone here on THR collect these little Colts?

Sweet.

I've often though of dumping 99% of what I have and picking up nothing but FS Commeratives.

Downside for you might be being "Spoiled" by the Colt action to the point you find the Ruger action a little odd. It doesn't amount to much @ the FScout vs SSix level....really comes into play @ the Vaquero/Blackhawk vs SAA level though.

Very nice indeed. Abe . The only Colt
historical website I have ever seen, dealt
with the three generations of the Colt Match
Target Woodsman; but I'm sure there are
others. Stay tuned, cuz I'm sure some of
the Colt boys and/or gals will be along in
a jiffy to assist with your request!

Best Wishes,
