I think when people say the PSA rifles, the PSA scopes, the Stoner barrels, Model 1 builds, etc... it might mean something but perhaps also nothing. Who knows.
They do not make their stuff, they simply order to spec in mass quantities and sell it. It is not like seekings billlets or youngs amazing bolt groups.
You get whatever part from whoever and many times is good and others perhaps not so good. Remember a few years back the recall from Stoner bolts that were breaking left and right?.
someone messed up the heat treatment process and then went unnoticed. It is not like they manufacture and test their product. The good thing with Stoner (Midway) is that with their amazing
customer service took no time to react and get everyone impacted squared away.
That is why I always suggest to stay away from M4 style tacticool barrels and super cheap kits. Spending $100 or 200 more it can make a significant difference in the long run.
In the whole scheme of things when compared to all the ammo that is coming out that rifle, that difference is nothing.
This is a case from a barrel a friend from the local matches brought over to diagnose.
Hadspace was ok but the tenon has cut short and chamber had runout.
A total butchering during the cambering job. I think they took care of his barrel exchange but still could have burst a case and make a mess.
Who knows who actually manufactured that. ....Guy punching wrong number on the machine, chuck slipped. who knows. ... No QC what so ever.
The AR15 lego projects are fun and everything is nice, until it is not.

PSA does not make most of their products. So I doubt they QC it much. They assemble and ship out. You get what you pay for.
In the grand scheme of things, this is a very small sample compared to the thousands of AR's that don't have issues.
Yeah, it's the Wylde. I bought another 16" complete upper with the 416 SS bbl & 5.56 chamber, then they put the 18" complete w/Wylde on sale the week after I got the shorty, so I bought it and gave the 16" to a friend for Christmas (probably the last 3 Christmas's ). It was such a good deal I couldn't not buy it... Visual/apparent quality is excellent, just need to shake it out when the weather gets over its hissy-fits...Damn, I paid $200 for just their barrel if that's the 223 Wylde chambering they had on sale - it was a good deal for a GREAT barrel, exactly what I wanted for my accuracy build. I'm jealous you're local to them, I've gotten a lot of value out of their products and have no complaints.
8.5"Nice WestKentucky. How long is that barrel?
I'll post a pic of my pistol build when I get the upper. Hopefully won't be too much longer.
i was about to buy it over the sagia 308 but something told me it might not be tough enough in real battle conditions weather snow and mud and blowing sand like a ak action would be flawless in, sure the psa its a great target rifle on the range i bet but thats not a real beater if you need to fight with it. its a safe queenPalmetto State Armory seems to be a top recommendation often for people asking about AR-15 parts, especially if you are looking for a deal.
So, I thought it would be interesting for people to post info, experiences and maybe pictures of anything you've built out of PSA parts. Posts can be related to AR-15's, AR-10's, and maybe even the AR/KS-47's and AR-9's they offer if anyone has ventured that direction.
I have an upper that hopefully will be on the way soon (ordered what seems to be forever ago) and it got me thinking about what other people are doing with what's available from PSA.

I bought a PSA upper. It worked ok on a lower I had. Then I decided to build a PSA lower. Most of the pins and small parts were out of spec. I had to buy another brand part kit. Then I had issues at the range with accuracy and function. Eventually I discovered the bolt was out of spec. and binding. And I upgraded the trigger. So my cheap build cost an extra $175 and trips to the range. I also built a Del-Ton kit and everything was perfect and better looking. Oh and PSA had no customer service. Is this thread about PSA parts and builds, or any problem anyone has ever had with a budget AR part?
