new member looking for opinions on taurus 3rd gen pt111

I just bought a used one, nice little gun, dont really like the long trigger pull, but for the price I cant complain

I like the PT111, especially the latest 3rd generation version which has the SA/DA trigger. I had both 3rd gen, one with the DAO trigger and one with the SA/DA trigger. I liked the SA/DA trigger better, it's much smoother. But I shot both equally well, the trigger differences didn't seem to matter. I replaced the PT111 with a PT745 just because I wanted a .45, nothing at all wrong with the PT111, in my book.

+1 on the PT111. I had the 3rd gen. with the SA/DA trigger, and once you get used to the long first pull after a mag or so, the gun shoots to point of aim, and the recoil is very mild. Sold it to a friend for his 1st handgun, and he loves it.

Definitely go with the 3rd Generation model with the SA/DA trigger. I tried the earlier versions with the long DA trigger and could not get comfortable with it. Same thing with a friend of mine; tried the older models and hated the trigger pull. Then he tried a 3rd Generation PT145 and was sold on it.
