So my Misses bought a used PT738 a few weeks ago at a LGS. She's "somewhat" new to guns so she's been getting used to/comfortable with it by dry firing and using the snap caps she got.

This past week she says "Well it IS used. Don't you think you ought to take it with you to the range and make sure it works?". Well sure. I don't care that it's pink. Give me a gun and I'll shoot it.

Now up until now my shooting with pistols has been 9mil or bigger. Given that I've never shot a .380, and how freaking tiny this gun is, I was a little curious as to how it would handle. Even with the Pierce extension I could only just manage 2 fingers around the grip. Without the extension it was trigger and middle finger only.

Anyhow much to my surprise it was very manageable. Kinda of seemed like a .22 on steroids to me. Folks that say there isn't that much difference in the recoil of a .380 versus a 9mm can come shoot my PT709, and then my wifes 738. It's a world of difference.

The DAO hammer trigger was actually quite pleasant for what it is. I was surprised at how accurate it was at 20-25ft. I wouldn't hesitate to step out a bit further.

I only put a box through it but overall for a used $150 pocket rocket I'd say it's pretty decent.

I own a bunch of micro 380 pistols and the TCP was my carry pistol of choice until I got a G42, but the TCP is still carried frequently.
