Once again, i feel like a fanboy.
I like my PTR a lot. It's accurate and reliable as heck with commercial ammo. Picky about milsurp.
Couple notes for those considering one, especially if you've never shot one before:
1. If you want to shoot cheap milsurp, avoid AW serial numbers below 8000. Mine is one of these, and chokes on DAG, South African, etc. But if the one you want IS in that serial range, good news: they are more than happy to eat Brown Bear, Silver Bear, RUAG and Tula, and mine gets 3-4 moa with them.
2. Get a trigger job and a different recoil buffer. I have a Bill Springfield trigger pack, which breaks clean at about 4lbs, and a PSG-1 buffer, which gets rid of the annoying 2-stage recoil impulse and softens felt recoil noticeably.
3. If you want to reload, get an ejection port buffer. Costs about $35 at RobertRTG and, in addition to making the brass come out without any dents, makes ejection more consistent.
