Been looking for357 ammuniton and found a website selling remanufactured 38 special, that they say was remanufactured using PULLED bullets and brass from commercial 38 special ammunition.

SO im curious on what big ammunition company has time to break down factory original 38 special and sell at as components, when loaded ammo is still barely above shortage?

Any mNufacturer that screws up a batch of ammo.
And thank goodness that some do, periodically.

It is how I got my stash of 124gr 9mm GoldDots, .44cal 200gr GoldDots and .45cal 230gr HST bullets when NIB versions were either unavailable or, when they did briefly appear for sale, they were much more expensive than the PULLS. :)

I have used a ton of pulled 180g 165g FMJ 40S&W. No issues, very little pull marks on them. I have used several hundred HST's as well. Sometimes you can find some killer deals on pulled, already primed brass. Just re-seize and away you go.

SO, do you think they should sell setup-run ammo or flawed rounds that do not pass their QC because of "shortages"? Not sure why you find it so odd, but it is quite common.

I load pulled bullets purchased from RMR all the time with great success and considerable savings. I can load FMJ's nearly at the price of plated. Have never ran into an issue as of now.

they dont do it for 22 rimfire (cci), so why do it for centerfire handguns?

ive gotten several bad boxes of 223 this year, perfecta and american eagle.

It's not feasible for them to pull-down rimfire ammo to sell as components. Whenever they recall rimfire ammo they probably pull the bullets, dump the powder, and recycle the lead and brass.

When centerfire ammo gets loaded with the wrong powder or wrong charge of the correct powder, they can recover a good bit of their money selling off the bullets and primed brass.

I am loading some 55gr A-max bullets. Some have very light pull marks...some are more noticeable. They have all shot just fine. I got my best group ever from my AR last Saturday. Only a three shot sample but it was under 1"...twice...shooting peep sights @100 yds. Surprised me!

RMR has a pretty good deal on pulled 69 gr Sierra Match Kings about .18 each with their free shipping.

I don't like using pulled bullets in rifle loads that im looking for moa accuracy with but in a handgun it wouldn't bother me in the least.
