Had a good time remembering the past; the singleshot is a winchester 16 ga with a full choke barrel; still is in excellant shape for its age; there is no telling how many rabbits and squirrels were taken with this gun both by him and my dad; alot of great stories behind this one;

Wonder why we as gun owners and hunters think that we must have the best in order to hunt now? don't rail on me yet, I own good pumps and autos as well but sometimes I get the itch to take out a good ol' singleshot and just have a fun hunt; seems like the big game hunts over shadow small game hunts and that is ok because I mainly deer hunt myself but in all honest I really miss those lazy afternoon and early morning squirrel hunts of yesterday; we didn't worry about what gun a person had or what brand it was or how much it cost, we simply got together killed squirrels,cleaned and cooked them that night after the hunt and sit around the campfire to listen to old men talk and brag on how good their squirrels dogs were;

I am going to take my 5 year old grandson on his first squirrel this fall and I believe I will use this old 16 guage of grandpa's and start my own heritage with him; then someday maybe he will pull out the old gun and reminisce on our hunts together; sure hope so....:)

I aint never seen a squirrel that would let you shoot at it more than once anyway.

You either get him with the first shot, or he's gettin' away.

16 gauge with full choke should be good out to about 40 yards on tree rats.

You still need to get the SAIGA with the drum mag though.
