Pulling bullets.

You can also use a wire stripper to grab bullet at top of press and holding it while pulling ram down.
It will put small marks on side of bullet but they don't hurt anything.
My RCBS kinectic hammer ruins base of bullet when it flys up and hit bottom of collet hold the case with lead bullets.
My Lyman hammer does same thing to cast bullets. So without a die mounted you rest to wire cutter on top of press. Not sure it works for short pistol cartridges.

Whenever possible , seat the bullet just a little deeper ... this breaks the crimp and loosens the grip the brass case has on the bullet ... makes pulling the bullet way easier .

Yep. the 30-06 rounds were not difficult to pull, two or three whacks would do the trick. But reseating the 357 with a heavy crimp wouldn't/didn't help. The crimp shaved lead when the bullet was pushed down, and did not straighten out the crimp...

I'm going to go ahead and disagree. In a senerio with no crimp or sealant this helps, in a roll crimp senerio for tube loading this is exactly the reason one roll crimps and trying to mechanically set back the bullet is going to ruin something. I shoot mostly lever guns and cartridges with roll crimps so that is something to check.

That's why the " When Possible " statement was placed in the beginning of my post ... It isn't always possible to do anything ... and roll crimps is one of the "not possible " but it's hard to cover every scenario in just a few lines ... thanks for filling in the information .

More info
these are copper jacket speer 130 gr. hotcor 270 rounds.
A 20-30 thousandths setback with a seating die to break the contact friction and then one or two wacks with the inertial puller and you should be good to go, no muss or fuss. If they aren't crimped and the neck tension seems light, try the hammer by itself. If the guy was a real doofus, you might be able to pull them with your fingers. ;)

I had my scale weights jump a grain on me and loaded almost 100 rounds 9mm before I noticed. They were under weight so I tried a few at the range and since they went bang and got all the way down range, I just shot them all. I had a Midway puller and managed to brake it not having used it in a while. I tried "tapping" on indoor/outdoor carpeting over concrete and the bullet didn't budge so I hit harder. I got the Hornady puller to replace it though it was one of the more expensive ones. I just looked at Midway and the dang thing is half price of what I paid. Grr...
