I'm disassembling some 300 Win Mag rounds that I acquired and some of them are loaded with a 224 62gr bullet and sabot. When I pul the bulet the sabot stays in the casing.

Suggestions for removing the sabot?

Shoot them out?

Actually, I have no good ideas.
Maybe you could center drill them with a Dremel tool and get a small wood screw to snag onto them so you can yank them with pliers?

Just run a drywall screw into the sabot BY HAND and pull it.

There is still powder in those shells, and while it will not be that dangerous with the bullet removed, the sabot will allow some pressure to build.

Thank you for the suggestions. This is what I did: The sabots are a hard plastic and I was unable to get a drywall screw started into the base. I used my Makita drill on low speed to drill a pilot hole in the base of the sabot. The drywall screw could then be screwed into it by hand. I then used the leverage of my press to pull the screw-sabot from the case.
