Just got back from the range with a new ProChrono Digital chronograph. I have a very accurate .308 load and I was wanting to know for certain the velocity.

Kimber 84m Classic Select (22" barrel)
.308 Winchester
Winchester brass
Federal Gold Match primers
IMR 3031, 43.2 grains
Sierra Pro Hunter, 150 grains spitzer, flat base

10 rounds and it appears to be spot on 2,700 fps.

Also tried:

Savage 10ml-ii smokeless muzzleloader (24" barrel)
Winchester 209 primers
AA5744, 45 grains
Hornady XTP, .45 cal, 250 grains

Only shot three rounds due to rain, but it's very consistent at 2,100 fps.

That's all. Just wanted to share.

Just remember: ...

There ain't but 2 kinds of chronograph users...
Them that's shot their chrono & them that,s GONNA shoot their chrono.

So don't feel too dumb when it happens.

Used to drive through E-Town visiting grandparents many many years ago before free-ways-Interstates.. Pretty country.

That Pro-Chrono will help you build/tune new accurate loads faster.
Mine has been very reliable , but low bright sunlight can screw it up. Cloudy or high sun with screens it's great.

I have never owned one yet, but have a couple friends with them. The legs that hold up the sunscreen have been shot a few times:D. They are handy as a shirtpocket.I would have bought one by now if I didn't know people with one. I have even used them for shotshell loads. Perfect example, I was working up a load for pheasant hunting. The recipe said it should be moving 1-1/4oz at 1355 fps. When I loaded them they felt stouter than they should have and I was worried it could damage my gun. So I chrono'd 3 of them. They were going 1477 fps which told me the were not right and the pressure was going to be too much for what makes me feel comfortable.
