I am about to purchase an m&p 45 compact. I was wondering if this is a solid decision, I can use any input. Thanks

I opted for the full size M&P45. It has been totally reliable with everything from 185 gr. LSWC to 230 gr FMJ and surprisingly accurater - 1 1/4 to 2 kinch tight ten shot groups at 50 ft. I like it!

I stumbled upon a 40c for $400 a few months ago...so glad I did. I am very impressed with it am obviously am happy to have it. It's very comfortable and100% so far.

My M&P 45 full-size has been an excellent example of the model line. Reliable, accurate, seemingly durable, nicely balanced and possessed of great ergonomics. (The smallest grip/palm swell insert makes it feel rather like one of my 1911's with a flat mainspring housing.)

I've only reached approx 4,000 rounds fired, but it's included some of the different duty JHP's I've used over the years and they've all fed & functioning just fine.

I'm seriously considering buying a M&P 45c, myself. The last one I handled and tried on the range a couple of times seemed to offer me just enough of a smaller grip that I might be inclined to carry it more often than the full-size model.

It may have to wait on me ordering one of the Commander-size SW1911SC Enhanced Series guns, though . ;)

Based on the quality and performance of the M&Ps I've owned or shot (compact and full size 9mm, respectively), I wouldn't hesitate to get a .45 compact if I were in such a market.

A friend of mine bought the 45 compact, but had regrets later when he realized 9mm would fit his ammo budget better and allow him to do more shooting. And there is the capacity difference, but I think you can carry full-size mags to use for reloads with the compact.

I bought the M&P45C a few weeks ago and have since put a few hundred rounds through it - Everything from 140 grain Round Ball to 200 grain SWC to 1960's vintage GI ball. I cycles them flawlessly and the accuracy has been impressive.

I've shot it at 50 yards too. All hit the 8x11 paper with most of the magazine inside the 6" bullseye. Even though it is lighter I can shoot it as quickly as my 1911. I'm still getting used to the trigger but it does seem to be improving (or I'm getting used to it) with use.
