Who can remember when the BATF was signed-up and empowered? Around 1968? Who can remember when the war on drugs started up officially? Around 1984-86? Who can remember a ban on certain imported rifles in 1989? Who or what do we call the people who continually enact such profane ideals? Conservatives? Really, I'm asking weren't these all so-called "Conservatives"? Where will it end???
We can't even buy hand guns at the Army Surplus in Southaven, MS because it's gotten too rotten to deal with. Around the corner, at the Military Surplus, hunting and fishing outfitters - no firearms at all!! And very little surplus. Oh, but you can still get paint ball.

Where to begin you ask? In the past century I presume... its as good a place to start as any other.

Revenooers been sniffing around stills since Geo. Washington put down his whiskey rebellion and that was a while back. Some say its been downhill ever since.

In '34 the NFA was enacted, some say due to the bootleggers and their crime spree, but my old daddy told me about the "Bonus Army" long before I read John Ross' book. And the gov't didn't want any ex-soldier boys to go lugging around fully automatic weapons cause they knew how to actually use them. Trained by Uncle Sam himself.

A $200 tax back in '34 was a boatload of money on something that cost $50 or so.

That set the stage for everything that follows and here we are today.

When will it stop? Never.

What do we call those who foist this upon us?

Elected Officials of our blessed Republic. Demo's, Repubs, Liberals, Conservatives, whatever label you want to hang on them, always remember this...

They think THEY are the RULING Class.

Power is theirs for the keeping. An Oligarchy. Found in the Halls of Washington DC and every State Capital.

Like William Jefferson Clinton, they'll say anything to get elected.

They'll say the right things and turn on you in a heartbeat.

What's the newly elected Governor of MD's name? The one that the NRA backed and who was "On Our Side"?

Good men and women are hard to find and when you do find them, they are the ones that do not want such an office.

I can remember ordering our first SMLE for $11.00 from Montgomery Wards back in '62 (I was 7) and it CAME IN THE MAIL!
