The NRA Law Enforcement shows building this - has anyone ever done it? Seems like it should work - gravity being a law not just a good idea.

Seems the target will move down turn to the shooter then turn away. I have no idea how long the target is exposed. Granted there will be a lot of time walking down to reset

That's how some of the metal ones are made (MGM's especially) so it should work just fine, at least for a while. Having the weight of a metal target holder might help it work better, but as long as it doesn't hang up at all a plastic pipe version should work.

Yes, I did one. Works okay. However, on a windy day the breeze can cause the PVC to bind. Tried using it last year during our department qualifications and the gusty wind was causing problems.

Do you have a link? I tried typing 'PVC Turning Target' in the search box, 102 unrelated items popped.

UPDATE: Never mind, I saw the link to the youtube video further down in the thread. :)

Well, I hacked one together just for a test.
The zig zag channel causes the target to go back and forth instead of the drop and turn type that I actually wanted.
Cool, non the less.
To get the other kind, the channel had to go around the tube in a circular fashion, so as to turn the target 180 degrees as it drops, instead.
Then it will go from edge on to face on and continue to edge on.
Using both at a match would cause sufficient confusion to be entertaining.
