I came across someone that has a nib full size Storm that he has had a couple of years and has not even fired it and wants to possibly sell.
He seemed okay with $350 which I know is cheap for a nib Storm.
However this model is the DAO model so it has no safety/decocker on it.
What do you guys think?
Any of you own or fired one in DAO??
Issues?
It's kind of hard to let something like this go but every Storm I have seen comes with the safety/decocker and I am not sure about one in DAO.

I can't speak to the DAO version. But I have shot a DA/SA and it was really nice. I have considered getting a DAO pistol to practice with. If you can shoot DA well then shooting a striker fired pistol is a lot easier. All that said, that is a good deal and if you don't want it you may be able to make $50 on it.

I like my Full size 9mm Type F: Single and double-action with Decocker and Manual safety. There are two types of "double action" Storms:

Type C: Single-action-only "Constant Action". Spurless hammer, No decocker or safety. Trigger pull is more like a striker fired Glock or M&P.

Type D: Double-action-only. Spurless hammer, No decocker or safety. Trigger pull is more like a DAO revolver.

Dry fire it and evaluate the trigger for yourself.

He said it was the type D.
Hmm....Maybe not such a great deal after all.
I might look into the regular model in sub or compact.
But the price is sure right.

$350 is probably a good price, but just for my personal tastes I wouldn't own a true DAO autoloader (ie, the D-type action).

The 'C-type' action where its a partially cocked hammer seems like a great idea and has been the de-facto standard method of operation for striker fired guns for decades.

I have three PX4 Storm pistols, full size, compact, and subcompact. Each is type F, DA/SA, manual safety, decocker. They are great pistols. You will not be disappointed with the PX4.

I decided to pass on the gun due solely on the dao.
WRGADog,does the rotating bolt on your compact vs the non rotating bolt on the bulldog looking sub compact make any difference in the recoil of the pistols?
They are almost the exact weight.

The recoil is mild on both the compact and subcompact. There is no significant difference in recoil between the two pistols. I think you made a wise decision passing on the DA only.

Yea,and after looking a new PX4 at Academy and then seeing his it looked, well, incomplete.
Pricing the F model sub and compact now.
But they will certainly not be $350.
